Painting tile floors in your kitchen or bathroom is actually not all that difficult. I think it looks much better with white grout lines instead of painting grout lines the same color. That way it doesn't look painted. Here's what I used:
Products used:
1 brush from 99 Cents Only - $1
1 Roller cartridge from 99 Cents Only - $1
Roller cage and pole I had from other projects
3 rolls of masking tape from 99 Cents Only - $3
1 Gallon of Valspar Bonding Primer (Tintable White) from Lowes - $12
1 container of Proline Universal Colorants (Lamp Black) from Home Depot - $7
1 Gallon of Clear Seal by Seal Krete from Lowes - $28
TOTAL COST = $52
I paint my kitchen floor using valspar bonding primer and Seal Krete Clear Seal. I started this kitchen project late Friday afternoon. I managed to get 3 coats of primer down and on Saturday I began painting the grey squares. I purchased the black tint from Home Depot and mixed it in a small can of the same primer I used to get the white. This made the grey color that I wanted. I used masking tape around each tile, working in rows and painting one tile at a time. Each tile was painted 2 coats. This is seriously time consuming and took the whole day! Laminate seems cheesy to me and I wanted to try this as a last resort. I will wait 48 hours to move the fridge back onto the kitchen floor. We shall see how it holds up. Good luck to anyone else who would like to try. Let me know how it goes and be sure to give this video a like. Thanks!
